Bee-Keeping Course – Mooroolbark

The Bee Group, a special interest group of Permaculture Melbourne, periodically offers a weekend training course to equip beginners with sufficient knowledge to start natural beekeeping.

Natural Beekeeping sees the well-being of the bees as no less important than the honey yield. It is simple and low-cost – perfectly suited for small-scale backyard beekeeping. Each day of this two-day course has four one-hour information sessions, hands-on segments, theory covering equipment, hive management, honey harvesting, diseases and legislation, and a Q&A session. Morning and afternoon teas provided; BYO lunch.

Cost: $200 for Permaculture Melbourne members / $250 non-members. Location: Mooroolbark (eastern suburbs of Melbourne).
